I have started a new business dealing with dog clothes. Does anyone here know where I can go to find wholesale fabrics at a cheaper price? I am based in Wellington and could use a little advice on where to go to get cheaper material

That is a similar question that I often get asked by people emailing me direct. I then normally try doing some searches to get an answer. I am very please that you have asked this on the forum as this is one of the reasons I set them up.
Try searching on Google, New Zealand sites.
Please lt's know how you get on.
I would very much like to get some wholesalers to advertise on the site so if you find any, ask them if they would be interested.
Cheers

Hi Guest,
I would be keen on seeing what you have available. I'm looking for a dog coat/cover with NZ or All Blacks or silver fern on it. Size to fit scottie dog. Thanks.

I bought a blue swanni dog coat from a mail order lady and now cannot remember the name of her. It has lasted and lasted and now want one for my other dog too. I must have the info somewhere around here in the mess hole I call an office.

Hey Toni, great to have you here too.
I am just wondering if it would be worth contacting some of the big manufacturers, like Swandri, and show them the product that you make and ask them if they think it good enough for you to use their material offcuts and giving them recgnition in your brand like,
"Material used is Swandri"
I don't know if it would work but as long as you are willing to advertise their products and are only using their off cuts, it just might work,
What do you think?

Yep, that's the one, Country Rover. Jack, I also bought a silver shepherds whistle from a lady in Fairlie. That was some time ago also so don't know if they still make them. The name is Black Forest Station, Private Bag Fairlie. Ph 03 680 6795, Fax 03 680 6796. They come in a nice wooden box. email black.forest.@clear.net.nz.
There is also a craft co op moving into the Matakana Country Park at Matakana. Don't know of any details of who is running it but you would be able to find the park number in directory. They should give you a contact to see if they might be interested in listing their site.

Thanks Toni. I must follow up that whistle thing.
This is not a free site, and I am carrying most of the cost myself, so if I can't use email, I just can't afford to check out things like that Co-op at Matakana.

Grantham, at the moment there are no sponsors at all on the site. I am carrying almost all the costs out of my own pocket.
I am working on trying to make a logo, and then I need to tidy the site up a bit and hopefully if I can get more Crafters with their stuff on here, and more Markets, I will then go hunting for a sponsor.
I believe a sponsor will look more favourably on the idea if they can see that the site is not about making money for anyone, but supplying a survice to Crafters and Artist who don't have much money. This is way I have made that offer on the LSB website.
I hope you, and anyone else who reads this will understand the service I am trying to provide and give whatever help or suggestion you all can.
Cheers
